ALEX BROWN





Dr. Brown is an oncoplastic breast and specialist general surgeon practicing at Wellington Regional Hospital, the Breast Centre at Bowen Hospital and Wakefield Hospital, New Zealand. He currently holds a position at the Department of Surgery & Anaesthesia, in the University of Otago in Wellington. Dr. Brown gained a Master of Surgery degree in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from the University of East Anglia and completed his dissertation on fat grafting after breast cancer surgery. He completed his surgical training in the UK, including studying at the Oncoplastic Breast Units in Exeter, Taunton and Truro, before moving to Sydney to complete a two-year Fellowship at Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. During this fellowship, he perfected his skills and developed the expertise required to offer patients the very best care. He is a fellow of both the English and Australasian surgical colleges as well as the European Board of Surgery. His research interests include fat grafting, breast reconstruction and patient safety.
