

YANG YANG HUANG
He is a specialist breast and general surgeon. He grew up in Perth and studied medicine at the University of Western Australia. He undertook general surgery training at all three major tertiary hospitals in Perth as well as regional centres including Broome, Albany and Bunbury. After completing his general surgery training, he undertook four years of fellowship training in breast surgery in high-volume centres. He spent two years at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, one year at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, and one year at Westmead Breast Cancer Institute in Sydney. Back in Perth, he is now a consultant Breast and General surgeon at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
His area of interest is oncoplastic breast surgery, particularly in breast-conservation surgery (therapeutic mammoplasties, perforator flap) and implant based reconstruction. He is currently involved with the Risk Management Clinic and working as a research coordinator for the Breast unit. He is passionate about providing individualized patient centred care with the comprehensive multidisciplinary team at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
He has contributed to several peer-reviewed articles, been involved in clinical trials and is actively teaching medical students, surgical trainees and breast fellows.
He is a member of BreastSurgANZ, Breast Cancer Trials Australia and Australasian Society of Breast Disease.
He has completed his Masters of Advanced Surgery (Breast Surgery) from the University of Sydney.
Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit in the gym and trying different cuisines.
