BAHADIR M. GULLUOGLU



Prof. Bahadir M. Gulluoglu works at Marmara University School of Medicine, Department of General Surgery since 1991 and currently is a full-time professor (tenured) at the same institution since 2009. He formerly served as the Vice-Coordinator and Head-Coordinator for clinical graduate medical education at Marmara University (2006-2012). Prof. Gulluoglu has been a member of his university's Institutional Review Board since 2011. He also serves as a faculty member at Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology, Targu Mures, Romania and Kragujevac University, Serbia. Prof. Gulluoglu is the co-founder of Marmara University Hospital, Breast Center (2001), a member of the Breast Centres Network. Prof. Gulluoglu also works as a core faculty member at the European Academy of Senology (EAoS), the International Breast Ultrasonography School (IBUS), the European School of Oncology (ESO) and MANOSMED Mediterranean University of Mastology. He is currently one of the general assembly members of the Marmara University School of Medicine Foundation. He holds honorary fellowships from both the European Board of General Surgery and Breast Surgery. Besides, Prof. Gulluoglu currently serves at UEMS, European Board of Breast Surgery as the deputy secretary, webmaster and executive board member and also at BRESO (European Breast Surgical Oncology Certification) Structure Working Group as a theoretical knowledge committee member.

Prof. Gulluoglu is currently the academic leader of SENATURK (Senology Academy-Turkey) and country coordinator of the Oncoplastic Breast Consortium (OPBC), Basel, Switzerland. He formerly served at the Senologic International Society (SIS) as deputy secretary and Committee for National Breast Cancer Screening at the Turkish Ministry of Health as the chair. Besides, Prof. Gulluoglu is an honorary member of both the Bulgarian Surgical Society and the Romanian Society for Breast Surgery and Oncology. He is the founding executive member of the Turkish Society of Breast Surgery. Prof. Gulluoglu is the institutional research coordinator of EORTC Breast Cancer Group and a member of the ASCO Resource-Stratified Guideline Advisory Group, Alexandria, USA. He is the program chair of SENATURK’s International “Multidisciplinary Breast Health Care & Advanced Breast Cancer Surgery” Fellowship Program in Istanbul. Prof. Gulluoglu is the co-chair of the International Istanbul Breast Cancer Conference (Breastanbul) and (Turkish) National Health Quality Forum (USKAF). He is the convenor of Istanbul Reconstructive Breast Cancer Surgery (IREBS) and Breast Surgical Ultrasound (SENUS) Workshops and currently serves as the associate editor at Breast Care (Karger).
